About Alan McCrone
Two decades managing Edinburgh's most demanding renovations
Edinburgh Project Management was founded in 2005 by Alan McCrone, following many years as a private property developer. EPM was born out of his experience of the void between the home owning public who love their period buildings and the professionals and contractors who have the experience to work on improving those same homes. Alan realised his network of contacts as well as his personal experience of the intricacies and pitfalls of renovating properties could provide much needed support to others doing the same.
Since then Alan has spent over two decades managing Edinburgh’s most demanding renovations, from single-bedroom tenement flats to complete A-listed Georgian townhouses, and commercial listed buildings. He has extensive experience working within Edinburgh’s historic fabric, developing solutions to challenging renovations with creativity and technical expertise. His well-informed approach and passion for the period detail, as well as contemporary interventions, has shaped many successful renovations over these years.
Alan is a results-driven professional who has created a bespoke skillset enabling him to deliver exceptional results within any realistic budget. The EPM team ensures every client and their individual vision, budget, timeline and requirements receives personal focus throughout their project.
When Alan is not on site overseeing one of EPM’s projects, he enjoys mountain biking in the Scottish Borders or topping up his Munro tally with his wife.
