Period Country House

Parts of this rural estate house in Fife dated back to the 15th century, with two later Georgian extensions. It had previously been used for self-catering flats and had signs of lack of investment and neglect over many years.

The new owners engaged EPM to complete a comprehensive renovation over four-phases which would allow them to continue use of part of the house throughout. Having been divided into several separate flats, we were able to recombine many spaces and return some grand rooms to their original purpose. We even uncovered some striking period features along the way.

The project included massive re-wiring and re-plumbing, vast areas of re-flooring, and increasing the power capacity of the property. This involved working with SP Energy, digging in 700 metres of high-voltage electrical cabling and coordination all external works as well as the interior. We were even able to introduce high-fast fibre to the site, far from the main road nearby.
